7 Hot Interior Trends 2023
Discover some of the hot interior design trends for 2023 – see what’s coming and continuing. Think how you will include them, upgrade what you have, and how it fits into your style. Take inspirations and time to decide what is right in your home.

COLOUR
Look forward to warmer colours that uplift. Paint companies draw inspiration from the Australian landscape featuring a plethora of wonderful colours for everyone. It is time to let your personal expression free!

SUSTAINABILITY
Homes continue to stretch sustainability. There’s renewable, natural and locally sourced products from building materials, fabrics, and furniture, more natural light and attention to the aspect a house sits on the land. Reduced home waste and less single use products grows as does the humble backyard home grown vegetable garden.

GEOMETRIC SHAPES
Expect more geometric shapes everywhere… assorted furniture, wallpaper, wall panels, and décor items from vases to flatware etc. Mix large and small patterns but find balance so different patterns work well individually and mixed.

VINTAGE AND TRADITIONAL
Traditional pieces combined with one off unique vintage pieces create conversations in a space. Repurposed and upcycled pieces, with a focus on individual expression.

TEXTURE
With even more texture this year there’s plenty of visual and tactile textural interest. Layers in flat smooth surfaces mixed with textured area rugs, round boucle ottomans and swivel chairs, bauble cushions, rattan accents and luxe velvet.

CURVES
The curve is still going strong with continuing curved door frames, mirrors, inset niches, seating, tables and most décor items, as well as wall panel curves in all directions that keep the eye moving.

BIOPHILIA DESIGN
Another growing trend that’s more than simply connecting to the outdoors. You’ll see natural stone fireplaces, large scale house plants, live edged furniture and statement piece furniture. Also decorative planted walls paired panel room dividers and large scale plant based wallpapers and larger windows, skylights, and movable doors to create flowing indoor / outdoor living.

In short you’ll see natural elements in all things; colour, texture, traditional and vintage, biophilia design and geometrics. I always go to nature  first as it is an unlimited supply of inspiration to bring into my designs, home renovation and styling and you can too using these hot new interior trends for 2023.
